Stripping a class of people of their basic human rights because it’s popular is antithetical to the most basic premises of liberal democracy, which is built around a concept of fundamental, one might say inalienable, rights.
She helped pass a bill—which is 100% part of liberalism. Maybe you don’t like the bill. Maybe the bill will hurt some people and have bad outcomes. But that’s part of liberal democracy.

They also never mention that every scientific org in the uk that’s looked at the Cass report has called it unscientific garbage
One reason the NYT has burned its credibility with trans people is that they still cite the discredited Cass report in reporting on trans healthcare. Never the German, Utah, or other systematic reviews supporting care. They also never provide the political context behind restrictions in care.
