People are so ready to foam at the mouth of any mention of AI that don't even realize what they are mad about.
AI is just a really bad umbrella term and means so much more than LLM and gen-AI stuff.
So much of it is broad ranges of tools that don't replace human creativity.

As the backlash to generative AI in video games continues to pick up steam heading into 2026, it'll be fascinating to see what is considered "made with generative AI." Can a dev team say they're not using AI if they're writing design docs with Copilot or using chatGPT to make schedules and budgets?

i get the sense that ppl who are super into AI think that AI skeptics are only against it for moral reasons, which is part of it (and is also true for me). but another issue i have with it is that it is actually bad at what it is supposed to do, with no way to improve (look up "AI plateau" for info)
just to see what would happen i asked gemini AI to write something in my writing voice (goodness knows there is plenty of it online to check against) and it was absolutely nothing like me at all. idk if this is comforting per se but it was very funny to me

Has anyone that doesn't use alt text had their behavior changed by being an annoying scold in their replies? Like I don't post images without it but everyone that gets really upset about it always looks incredibly performative to me.

I think the most damming thing I can say about the state of big modern games is I've only bothered to buy a game for more than 60$ three times and I felt like a total sucker every single time. (Monster Hunter Wilds, MK1 and Borderlands 4) did not enjoy any of them.

I see a lot of people bemoaning western games for being increasingly homogeneous, ugly and unstable, but I think that does a disservice for the many horrible gacha games on display that are basically indistinguishable from each other too.
