I’m glad to see Bill say this. But when after a century of just the type of abuse we saw today - relentless and cruel, ensnaring our children and intimidating our communities - young Black people said in frustration, anger, and demand for change “defund the police” - so many of you denounced them.

Congresswoman Ilhan Omar's son was pulled over by ICE and forced to prove he is an American.
Two options:
1) ICE deliberately targeted him.
2) ICE is stopping all non-White people without any probable cause and forcing them to prove they are citizens.
Hard to say which option is scarier.

I was listening to an old Casey Kasem American Top 40 (I find this soothing these days) from 1985 where he told the story of Wendy Carlos, who scored The Shining and Tron, and her journey to becoming trans. Casey got all the pronouns right and it was presented as a slice of life, feel good story
Cool tip: it actually takes MORE effort to deliberately misgender someone AND it marks you as a total asshole! Pretty cool!

This is Thiel’s vision (and I assume Vance is promoting it)…the idea is that all services become privatized, and then states “compete” (for residents?) based on which of them can offer the best services (while private companies make $). Sort of a U.S. hunger games model
Shocker. They want to privatize everything. Schools. NASA. Police. Health care. Social security. The VA. Everything.
The downsizing of the National Weather Service and the NOAA appears to be part of an effort to privatize the work of such agencies.
