GOOD NEWS! Researchers have shown Alzheimer’s disease can be REVERSED- not just prevented. Using a potent neuroprotective compound called P7C3-A20, they found RESTORING balance to a central cellular energy molecule (NAD+) not only PREVENTED disease features but REVERSED them, EVEN at late stages.

I spend 1.5 years doing this. Full rewrite last summer and another partial rewrite last month. As Hemingway said: "First draft of everything is always shit".
No Graphics API — Sebastian Aaltonen
Graphics APIs and shader languages have significantly increased in complexity over the past decade. It’s time to start discussing how to strip down the abstractions to simplify development, improve pe...

Just yesterday me and some folks on games academia / industry talked about how the games that elevate the medium feel like anomalies and accidents and not part of its industry. If we don't have spaces for things like this, I don't know what we're doing.
Keita Takahashi said 'To a T' didn't sell well enough. He moved back to Japan with his family, unsure if he will stay in the industry.

An easy way to explain luddites:

Textile manufacturers brought in machines that could do in an hour what would have taken 12 hours by hand.

And then, tried to keep paying the now 12x more productive workers the same wages as before.

That's it, that was the problem luddites had. Not complex.

authors you have the chance to do the funniest thing right now
AI advocates have warned that if every author in the class action filed a claim, it would "financially ruin" the entire industry.
Authors celebrate “historic” settlement coming soon in Anthropic class action
Advocates fear such settlements will “financially ruin” the AI industry.

Every country has a powerful right wing that argue “if you tax the wealthy, they’ll leave”

We need to start calling their bluff.

We need to make it so the ultra wealthy either contribute enough to be a positive part of society, or be globally shunned and unable to extract further funds from us.

"Cheery was aware that Commander Vimes didn't like the phrase 'The innocent have nothing to fear', believing the innocent had everything to fear, mostly from the guilty but in the longer term even more from those who say things like 'The innocent have nothing to fear'." - Terry Pratchett, Snuff
When people say "if you have nothing to hide you have nothing to fear." the correct response is:

"I need privacy, not because my actions are questionable, but because your judgement and intentions are."

the thing about "just make it exist, make it good later" is that unfortunately three key challenges in game development are 1. deciding what should exist 2. deciding when to make things good 3. deciding what 'good' means

Aunque me considero una persona creativa, tardé mucho en entender esto. Una idea no vale nada, todos tenemos buenas ideas. La capacidad (logística y de habilidad) de llevarla a cabo hasta el final es lo que tiene valor
One thing that doing creative work teaches you is that ideas are worth nothing. Anybody can have an idea. In a writers room you have to come up with a hundred ideas a day, and most of those don’t make the page. It’s the work of making something that gives it value. The patina of humanity.
"AI only offers suggestions based on your prompts. It's still your imagination."

No. Your imagination provides the germ of a story, expands it into sentences, phrases, paragraphs, chapters, culminating in a complete story. Using AI is "I have an idea," then someone else writes a story based on it.
