Apparently the AI bros are on another round of "Hatsune Miku is AI, checkmate luddites" so this is just a reminder that the singer behind Miku was paid and still earns royalties, and beyond that, Miku is nothing more than a MIDI soundboard with advanced pitch converter options, it is not genAI.

We should not have ICE agents. Period. And we should have police reform and a legitimate effort to root out police corruption. But I'm pretty certain that everything is going to get dialed back to the George Floyd era and freeze in amber and--good God--is that going to suck.

I’m seeing a lot of people predict that “the right wing media is going to turn this story for Trump” and “they’re going to work overtime to make America forget this” and you should tell that to all these people out there in Minnesota in fucking January. This can matter. This will matter.
A friend in Minneapolis just sent me this video. Looks like thousands have come together for a vigil after an ICE agent shot and killed 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good. This was my neighborhood for several years before coming to Portland.
