It’s said that you should never meet your heroes, but 36 years after the Liverpool manager sat by Sean Luckett’s hospital bed, he got to thank the club’s greatest ally

Mani was a great man: warm, funny, self-deprecating at the right moments, and a profoundly talented bass player, born to do it. This is awful news

The Telegraph's new chinless wonder, Guy Dampier, continues to make shit up. He is either thick or lying. Asylum seekers cannot get social housing in England and Wales (probably not in Scotland, but I don't know enough to say for certain). Housing Act 1996 section 160ZA (England) prevents it.

Something that always comes up when a national register of landlords is raised, is landlords demanding a register of 'problem tenants'. Here is my thread explaining why these are a) very different things, and b) a 'problem tenant register' would be a very bad idea, particularly for landlords.
I think you slightly missed my (admittedly unclear) point. These are two wholly different things. The landlord database will effectively be a register of compliance with statutory duties on landlords (GSC, EICR, Licensing. S.48 address, etc.) It will not be a register of private law duties ->

Amongst my family and friends as British Muslims, this speech is being discussed. We are only 6% of the population and fear is creeping in.

Again, thank you @newsagents.bsky.social for discussing this form of open racism for votes

We need to talk about Suella Braverman.

She made a speech in DC this week which barely caused a murmer. But it was a speech which had echoes of Tommy Robinson. We need to talk about the radicalisaton of the mainstream right.

This has to be the most dishonest reporting of an opinion poll I've ever seen

The survey actually found that over two thirds of voters *do not* think Starmer will be out of No 10 within a year.

Don’t recall there being much outrage when Conservative Downing Sts in every administration of last 14 yrs doled out honours to scores of backbench MPs basically for just being MPs.

We should have far fewer political honours but the thrice elected Mayor of London is a weird place to start.

This article really hits the nail on the head about so-called "ultra processed foods", a meaningless category so broad as to group together tofu and twinkies as if they had the same health impact.
You’re being lied to about “ultra-processed” foods
Coverage of the latest nutrition buzzword is overly broad, arbitrary, and wildly misleading. The problem goes deeper.
