Governor Walz needs to mobilize the National Guard because it is abundantly clear that ICE is acting with reckless abandon for safety and disrupting people’s lives.

Everything Trump claimed he needed the Guard for here in CA is what his goons are actually committing in MN.
Trump's thugs are going hog wild and tossing gas around in one of the busiest commercial districts in Minneapolis, just a mile or so from where I live. Complete insanity.

Note that the fascist is not using the pepper spray for crowd control. He is entering a vehicle unimpeded to depart. He is simply using the pepper spray to physically punish an unarmed citizen he doesn't like.
Big clash this afternoon between DHS agents and protesters in a residential street in Minneapolis, following a DHS agent hitting another vehicle. Tear gas was deployed in people’s yards and agents pepper prayed people.

Seems like time to re-up:
There's a reason why sports teams don't chant "I believe that we will lose" before a game, a reason so obvious that I'm pretty sure it needs no explanation in that context. Words have power. They not only describe but shape reality....

The Ellison/Weiss CBS News of today would insist they couldn't platform Eisenhower without also platforming Göring and if anyone pointed out how ridiculous it was they'd talk about the importance of "open debate" and if you complained loudly enough they'd say "come debate that on my podcast"
/2 This will be grotesque. Edward R. Murrow didn’t have a radio show in 1946 where Eisenhower debated Göring about whether the Nazis had some good points. Today’s media would absolutely do that. Today’s media will platform people defending and rewriting Good’s murder for years.

Let me save you the trouble of reading the @nytimes.com transcript: They do an enormous amount of damage control and sane-washing for the man. A few recent critical pieces notwithstanding, they are basically his press secretary. They are welcome to try and change my mind.

Praetorian Guard favors Target because they have those flippy steps for you so you don't get water on your shirt reaching for the faucet.
ICE at Midway Target and seem to possible be leaving. Lots of community members here

I cannot express how incredibly vapid it is for @chatterton.bsky.social to be essentially resorting to civility discourse when the thing we are talking about is an armed agent of the state shooting a woman to death in broad daylight, confident that his thug regime will protect him from justice.

A lot of fans were furious with the #PWHL about the expansion draft, thinking that the league was handing the the Walter Cup to either Vancouver or Seattle. They currently sit at the bottom of the standings.

Wayne State has fencing because a fencer named Bela De Tuscan fled Hungary after World War I, landed in Detroit, caught on as a phys-ed instructor at Wayne State, met and married Normaleen Richardson, taught her to be a champion fencer, & together they created a culture of fencing in SE Michigan

The future 1930 promised.
NEW: China is testing a megawatt-scale airborne wind system that captures stronger high-altitude winds, potentially producing up to 10× more energy with 40% less material and 30% lower costs. It could also be quickly deployed to supply emergency power after disasters.

I don't particularly love a mighty wind compared to some of the other christopher guest mockumentaries except the scene where fred willard talks about his canceled sitcom is one of the funniest things I've ever seen and I think about it constantly

The only reason you think arguing with Megyn Kelly is more productive than arguing with me is that the two times you've argued with me you've been embarrassed.
@jamellebouie.net I’ve been quite clear in condemning the killing. Even a cursory glance at my twitter, IG or even this Bluesky account I barely use shows you’re dishonest. It’s actually more productive to argue with Megyn Kelly than such a bad faith actor as you.

The only ax to grind that I have is against lazy thinking, of which this post is great example. You are equating the lionization of Mangione by a small number of Americans — in a manner no different from classic veneration of the outlaw — with propaganda in defense of state-sanctioned murder.
Anyone without a strange axe to grind (even that journeyman @jodyrosen.bsky.social) knows there’s nothing remotely objectionable about advocating for basic decency in a country where Good’s murder is welcomed and Luigi Mangione is lionized.

Starting up a DNA testing company.

People sign up, pay, and get sent a DNA testing kit to send back.

I get the kit, burn it, and then send them back a letter saying "Don't send your DNA to random companies what the fuck is the matter with you. Keeping your money btw"

A lot of businesses serving ICE agents in the Twin Cities are going to be in for a rude awakening. I already have a list of businesses that I will never patronize and I’m sure a bunch of others do, too. I know this info is being collected, but I haven’t even seen campaigns to share anything yet.

Girlbossing, perpetual peoples revolution and capitulation to capital; you can have it all!
Delcy Rodríguez, Venezuela’s interim leader, is vital to U.S. plans to run the country. The daughter of a Marxist guerrilla, she started out as a provocateur and amassed power by reviving a ravaged economy. Now she faces an immense challenge. trib.al/WWmtuAv
