What people who never go to the fucking library never seem to realize is that librarians constantly have to retrain on new tech because libraries already are doing what this guy wants. AND they have physical books for nerds like me who live in the horse era. AND they are one of the last commons.

the people who police use of the term "concentration camp" have no idea that the nazis had over 14,000 camps across europe and that the vast majority were detention camps and labor camps and not killing centers, which is what they ignorantly think concentration camp exclusively means: death camp.

Another ICE "assault" case unravels. Border Patrol and ICE are arresting US citizens and then after they find out that they are US citizens, they are charging them with "assault" to justify their actions. This is clearly DHS policy at this point. We've seen it repeatedly now.

This is unfortunately reminiscent of early camps in Nazi Germany, which were also widely lauded by politicians (they were by no means a secret), treated as tourist curiosities, and featured in glossy magazine spreads. It’s unfathomable to me how so many people can take such joy in human suffering.
