This is a really clarifying example of liberal brainrot. Apparently we’re supposed to be thankful that free speech exists “as an idea” even though in practice this right has been completely stripped away. To a liberal, de jure is as good as de facto.
Reflect on that for a second. You think Trump is bad? You think Trump is authoritarian? Well imagine a country where the leader rules in perpetuity, where minorities are sent to a giant chain of concentration camps, where censorship is omnipresent, where free speech doesn't exist even as an idea
