Hold the line. You actually have some leverage, and Republicans CAN'T BE TRUSTED. If the Senate Dems cave, I will work to primary every Democratic senator stuck in the fantasy land of the past. I live in NJ and will vote for your primary opponent. DON'T CAVE. Dump Schumer, or we'll primary you all.
Now is the time to find a path forward. Democrats are ready.

Read the thread. TL;DR: "the tariffs are a tool to collapse our democracy" - basically via extortion, sounds like. Y'know, what he's doing to colleges, law firms, and everyone else.
Those trying to understand the tariffs as economic policy are dangerously naive.

No, the tariffs are a tool to collapse our democracy. A means to compel loyalty from every business that will need to petition Trump for relief.

1/ A 🧵 to explain his plan and how we fight back.

Sharable Google Drive link with the office and fax numbers for the 10 Dems (I'm including King) who voted for cloture. Clickable office, FB, IG, and BlueSky links too.

Oh good, because it's clear how well the Democratic "leadership"'s policy of doing *checks notes* FUCK ALL FOR THE PAST FORTY FIVE DAYS has worked.

I wasn't "burn it all down and rebuild the party" before the election, but with the tangerine tornado and Darth Musk in the White House... LFG.

SCOOP: House Democratic leadership is "very unhappy" with those who went beyond traditional protest tactics, such as outfit coordination and refusal to clap during Trump's speech to Congress.
Scoop: House Democratic leaders privately confront Trump speech disruptors
Roughly a dozen Democrats were called into what one source described as a "come to Jesus" meeting.

Andrew Natsios, who ran USAID under President George W. Bush and is a lifelong conservative Republican, calls such moves “illegal” and “outrageous.” What Musk and Rubio are doing “is criminal. They can’t abolish the aid program without a vote of Congress.” www.politico.com/news/magazin...

I am rooting, God help me, for the Eagles, because it will piss off Trump more. Also because I have good friends who are big fans.

But if you could beat the Chiefs, say, 30-21, or 19-12, it would soften the blow of rooting for you. Thanks!

I cannot, during these horrific times, recommend enough the importance of making pockets of time to just do things that are not related to anything but the joy of being alive and playing. You need it. You do. It will keep you whole. Which we need. We need you whole.

We need to change the language we're using to describe this administration and use it everywhere.

Moving NTSB announcements exclusively to X and replacing news orgs with pro-Trump "news" orgs in the Pentagon is "moving towards a a state media, similar to Nazi Germany and Cold War Soviet Union."
