For the record, as someone who never really "got" Bright Eyes before 2005, I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning is a masterpiece and by far the best thing Conor ever did, and any Real Heads who scoff at it are Very Wrong

Maybe I'm too cynical but I find myself rolling my eyes at accounts on the internet that keep freaking out about the NYT or whoever "sanewashing" or not critiquing the president enough, as if any of the coalition that brought this to power gives a single flying fuck about a newspaper
