A of people are responding to this saying “well it was set in the 80s” forget 1) the show is set in the 80 but made in the 2020s - it’s storytelling or themes don’t have to be outdated and repetative. 2) there were many non toxically masculine men in the 80s. Just pop culture only highlighted that.
Why does every straight dude in Stranger Things have the same macho, needing to get over being overprotective character arc every single season, including the final season? Can we not, for the final season, just have everyone working together and respecting each other against the bad guy?
