No, Democrats, these little auction signs aren't it. You're acting like Wes Anderson characters who don't understand that they're in a Tarantino movie.

Every House Republican just voted to defund Medicaid. Reminder: there are no moderate Republicans in Congress, and stop pretending there are.

House Republicans just voted to gut Medicaid, which covers 1 in 5 Americans overall, including 41% of births and 63% of nursing home care.

They also just voted to gut SNAP, on which 41 million food insecure Americans rely.

This won’t just harm people. This will kill people.

They own this.

In future generations, when your children and grandchildren look back on this moment, they are not going to ask about the price of eggs. They are going to ask you what you did. Not what you felt. Not what you paid. But what you did. And I want to be able to say I did everything I possibly could.

For those asking where the Dems are, I might suggest: the right didn’t wait on the Republicans. They plotted the course & the Republicans followed, at first in small packs, but eventually all falling in line. The left may have to do something similar. Don’t wait on “the Democrats”. Show them the way

Seen on my news and academic feeds today:

"This is highly illegal!"
"Where are the courts?"
"Someone needs to arrest him/them!"
"The military needs to oust them!"
"WHERE ARE THE DEMS?"

This is the denial stage of grief. None of the above institutions are coming to save us.

We are all we've got.

i think it is important to say that the open and explicit racism of the president and the vice president isn’t just uncouth or “controversial” but a direct attack on tens of millions of americans and a dereliction of their duty to represent the entire country

1-0, FT. I'm so proud of this team. What a performance & a massive 3 points given the circumstances. Injuries, red card & barely any options on the bench.

Arteta & the players have been outstanding this season. The Arsenal hierarchy needs to help this team.

But importantly, fuck Michael Oliver.

The BJP came to power in India in 2014. With every election it has become harder to beat the BJP. It has consolidated money, media & muscle. While its 2024 electoral performance was weaker than 2019, it won despite horrible anti incumbency (something that governments elsewhere have faced).
