Why stop at fuel standards? Let's bring back those 70s cars with no seatbelts, AM radio only, and multiple ash trays to encourage cigarette smoking?

I want nonstop social media influencers trying to learn manual gear shifts.
Sean Duffy on slashing fuel economy standards: "This rule will actually allow you to bring back the 1970s station wagon. Maybe a little wood paneling on the side. We can bring back choice to consumers."

Not sure today's post by @vermontgmg.bsky.social could have been any more useful for a call to national discourse about this man's brain rot.
Trump: "Under Boot Edge Edge - another grossly incompetent. Get on his bicycle, ride to work. What they do is they take the fiber optics & they take fiber, try to hook it into copper. And fiber and copper don't mix. You can't do it...you saw that by the helicopter crash. You saw that into the plane"

Bike lanes make roads better for EVERYONE. Including drivers.
DDOT continues to publish before/after analyses of safety projects. The numbers for the 9th street NW bike lanes suggest that we should be doing these projects everywhere we can. Crashes plummeted, pedestrian and bike traffic skyrocketed, and vehicle travel times dropped.

Pretty sure this is universal in many states. As a born and bred Kentuckian from Louisville, they hate Louisville and Lexington and I can't quite put my finger on why ....

The military service drafted a new policy that classifies them as “potentially divisive.”

But who needs regulation when we can just let babies get sick a whole lot and then maybe the market will figure it out?

I think we should oppose the cave on moral grounds - no ACA subsidy is bad, obviously - while understanding that there is also no way out of the self-dug grave for the GOP.
I'm basically stealing this idea from another poster but it's kind of interesting that a "Dem Cave" at this point would mean "the GOP is allowed to continue, unfettered, on a political course that is driving down their approvals to apocalyptic levels and increasing their odds of death by angry mob"

If I were @schumer.senate.gov, I would not agree to help Republicans fund this regime on the "promise" of an ACA vote at a later date. It didn't work the last time when they promised to fund DC. It won't work this time either. The House won't touch it.

I don't know what the Senate is going to do. But if they do in fact fold in exchange for nothing, they will be living up to past performance. To expect the Senate to carry out the will of the American people is to misunderstand why it was created in the first place.
