Starbucks is clearly on a downslope; the question is whether the board of directors will step in and cut sling load on a CEO who clearly hasn’t got what it takes.
is there any bigger "I care about none of this" than living almost 2,000 miles from the thing you are ostensibly in charge of while impoverishing the people actually doing work for the thing
Starbucks has scrapped a $250,000 limit on its CEO's use of the company jet for personal travel.

CEO Brian Niccol uses the jet to commute from his house California to corporate HQ in Seattle.

The company is lifting the cap while refusing thousands of baristas a union contract.

A good analogy
I'm convinced AI is our generation's radium - a discovery with genuinely useful applications in specific, controlled circumstances that we stupidly put in everything from kid's toys to toothpaste until we realised the harm far too late where future generations will ask if we were out of our minds.

Spot on.
By the way, for those of you not in MN: Homan’s strategy was to withdraw some agents, so it felt like we were in the denouement of the crisis, and then escalate hard against observers. They’re being incredibly aggressive with observers now. National media may not want to check out just yet

Every instance of "AI democratizes the arts, you're classist and ableist and a gatekeeper for trying to stop it" is a slap in the face to the literally centuries of poor, disabled people making art on the margins and a crass lie in service of a machine that strips down and regurgitates dreams

👀Now that ICE/DHS are planning to buy ‘mega’ warehouse detention centers across the US to house human beings you might want to listen to this gentleman’s history lesson that he delivered at a city council meeting in AZ. Congress needs to have hearings on this like yesterday.

Jeffrey Bezos is destroying the Washington Post for the same reason Musk destroyed Twitter and Ellison is destroying CBS—oligarchs oppose the free press when if it threatens their wealth and power.

They don’t want normal people to see what is happening in America.

He’s like politicians who lament dysfunctional government, when they’ve been ‘the government’ for decades.

Looking in particular at you Texas.
I am baffled why Thiel gets invited to prestigious places. But I'm equally bewildered why he gets away with lamenting 50 years of stagnation when he, himself, has been involved with funding 'innovation' for nearly 30 years now. Is he perhaps to blame for stagnation? www.politico.eu/article/trum...

Whistleblowers just shared a memo showing DHS instructing ICE to force their way into peoples' houses without a proper warrant. Why is this not on all the networks right now? This is a criminal conspiracy to violate rights under color of law.
January 22, 2026 at 12:55 AM
It probably is; but the reality is that unless and until citizens respond to the limit of their capacity within the law those limits will be reduced.

The Congress isn’t going to save them. The appellate courts are not going to save them, only a jury of their peers.
My guess is this is what Miller et al WANT to happen as an excuse to escalate even further
Hypothetical: ICE executes a no-knock entry on a residence under the "authority" of an administrative warrant. A US citizen (not the targeted alien) living at the residence exercises his/her 2A rights and ventilates the first three guys in the stack.

Where does that leave us, legally?

They will do anything to not be caught up in the Epstein files. No matter what lives are lost or who we have to bomb in the process. It’s simple if we find out the truth on the Epstein files the GOP and all of them are going down including the supreme court.
