One of the most dangerous persistent myths is that planes are safe due to ventilation.

In reality ventilation is only on part of the time, and there is bad ventilation before and after take off.

And viruses can still spread easily in crowds over short distances regardless of ventilation status.

Brutal but effective public health messaging from New York Public Health.

The CDC is compromised. They’re no longer a reliable source of information.

They push anti-vaxx & anti-science grift.

Get your vaccines. Wear a respirator. Clean the air

We're half a decade into studies finding that improving airflow in classrooms will reduce disease transmission enormously, and that bleaching surfaces etc. does very little. And yet nothing changes. Waves of flu and colds wash over schools, and the schools pretend it's an act of God.

As she recounted
a disappointing dinner party
my work friend asked
if I knew the feeling
of being with people
(of being with good people)
but still just feeling
profoundly alone,
and as I adjusted my mask
I looked
at my friend’s bare face
and simply said:
I know the feeling.

I keep hearing people ask,
so if you are truly wondering
what the secret
of people
who rarely get sick is,
I shall tell you:
the secret is not
to ask yourself
what you should do
to protect yourself,
no, the secret is
to ask yourself
what you should do
to protect everyone.
