Professional societies keep beclowning themselves buying into a lie about what an LLM "summary" is. They are inherently counterfeit: not an epistemic product of the ideas in the source, but summary-shaped text linguistically based on *other* works (in the training corpus) that use related language.
This is one of the reasons I remain horrified by seeing @historians.org suggest "ways to use gAI" that included this:

Pluribus rules because it’s forcing people who wanna see a bunch of sci fi lore dumps to instead watch amazing actors have incredibly interesting conversations about what it means to be a person

I voice 14 different characters in THE ELEPHANT on HBO Max, this was one of the most unique, fascinating projects i've ever worked on, three different teams led by Pendleton Ward, Rebecca Sugar + Ian Jones-Quartey, and Patrick McHale all contributed segments without ever seeing the others (1/2)
