Today's forestry pics. In 2005 I camped in Idaho's Heyburn State Park for the entire month of August. When I got back from the woods late in the day, I was treated to awesome sunsets across the lake. Good times! See alt text for extra notes.

Brilliant sunset over lake, taken from the same vantage point as picture #2, but nearly a month later. The setting sun is farther to the left, evidence of the changing season.

This is how Kinkaku looked before it burned down. The temple was set on fire by a monk in 1950. After reconstruction, the gold leaf was reapplied in 1986 using urushi from Iwate Prefecture.
