And if it wasn't necessary, and in fact an insane crackdown on civil liberties to improve relationships between the UK and a genocidal state, then who should find out about that? Maybe write about it? Possibly not wait for a Home Office press release to make it OK?

Whose job could it possibly be???
In the modern media environment, the public simply doesn’t trust “we have secret evidence that shows why we have to do this”.

The Home Office needs to convince the public proscription was necessary, or else use measures that don’t criminalise support for the group.

It’s no mystery: the Thatcherite Consensus went Kaboom in 2008; our leaders and their sycophants still refuse to admit it, and they have spent all the time since trying to force the square shape of their dumb ideology up the round hole of reality. They’ll continue forcing it, until something breaks.
Okay, so, what does it mean democratically speaking, if Britain keeps electing leaders nobody likes with policies that nobody wants, who then swiftly plummet to hated public enemy status, and nobody can explain how that keeps happening?

Does this mean that JKKK Rowling is about to condemn the casting of the new version of Harry Potter, which only exists because she despised the cast of the old version?

Again, this is not how an actual democracy would work. This is how a *managed* democracy operates, and it’s specifically how a very badly managed democracy would work. There is IMO no other explanation than this that actually rings true.

Just imagine having a performative tantrum about the satirical bit in 28 Years Later, giving the impression you desperately wanted to pork an abuse victim you’ve just met whilst wearing a piss-yellow fright wig, then picking a fight with *Rachel Cohen* and losing, flouncing out doing the Shaun meme…

Israel destroyed a Palestinian seed bank today. This is such a specific kind of evil, targeting literal hope for the future. Attempting to further alienate Palestinians from their home and land. So much destroyed just for the sake of destroying. It's awful.

Holy shit, just saw Alan Cumming’s monologue standing in for Jim’ll Kimmel “why on earth would a rapist go to the bother of pretending to be trans in a country that actually treats rapists better than trans people?” It’s a point we’ve made a lot but to put that out on network TV is a new level.

Lammy’s only in it for the money, but Israel is personal for Starmer – he’s effectively a secret convert and has the zeal and fervour of one. I bet you Israel-related issues is the one thing he actually makes the (terrible) decisions on, hence why Weas is pressing the ‘Recognise Palestine’ button.
Lammy is a fucking monster but what stands out to me here is that Starmer *didn't even bother* to reply to the request from the FM of Scotland to treat children maimed by Israel & evacuated to Scotland in Scottish hospitals. A level of cruelty & indifferenct callousness by Starmer hard to process
Executing kids is cool with Labour. I didnt think we could get any worse than the fucking tories but have managed it.

RIP Jean Charles de Menezes - 20 years ago today
Clearly remember Ian Blair giving a statement to the media that Jean Charles de Menezes was acting suspiciously, wearing a bulky coat, jumped over the tube barrier, and received a warning before the armed police opened fire. It led the News At Ten. All lies www.bbc.com/news/article...
Former Metropolitan Police commissioner Ian Blair dies

You’ll never guess who was involved in the failure to prosecute.
Twenty years ago today, Jean Charles de Menezes was assassinated at Stockwell station. Head of the Met Police, Ian Blair, was made a Lord. Cressida Dick, who led the operation, was promoted to Blair's position.

OpenAI will, starting in 2028, have to start paying $30bn a year to Oracle, $28bn to Microsoft for Azure, and also $2.9bn to CoreWeave for compute. That’s $60.9 billion *in compute costs alone*. This company is an absolute joke and should be treated as such.

'Smoke me a Kipper, I'm definitely not Holly' - RIP Queeg

But also

Blows my mind that both of Labyrinth's choreographers ended up in hugely loved late 80s/early 90s space travel SciFi shows. (The other one was Dr Crusher)
RIP Olivier-winning theatre choreographer Charles Augins, who also worked as a choreographer for Jim Henson's Labyrinth while voicing one of the Fireys, and played Queeg in one of the best episodes of Red Dwarf.
