With the proper investment the Nicolas R. Maduro Proscenium Arch will be a fine addition to the Trump Grand Ballroom.

USA gets 55% of Venezuelan oil receipts and Maduro gets a pardon and an invitation to sit in the gallery, with accompanying shoutout, during the SOTU.

Until the cartoon hits theaters, I’d say Animal Farm.

Seriously though, I’d use Determined by Robert Sapolsky because I’d have no other choice.
Ok, everyone, what book is sacred enough to you to get sworn in on?
Strange takes on Mayor Zamdani swearing his oath on the Qu’ran. It has nothing to do with church & state. The point of the oath is for the person swearing in to do so upon some text that is sacred TO THEM. Some Presidents swore in w/o any book. John Quincy Adams was sworn on a law book. His choice.

Your cardiovascular improvements far outpace the adaptability of your tendons and ligaments. Aggressive training is usually a recipe for injury. You feel great and then that peroneal tendon swells, that meniscus feels tender, you discover the names of those tiny supporting muscles.

Take your time.
To hit a goal time or even just complete the race without injury, would-be marathoners need to follow a training plan. Turns out, most people are doing it wrong
What is the best way to train for a marathon?
Most people train too fast

I’m a 21 year old woman who spends a lot of time in my own head passing judgment on myself and others. I have four sisters, a somewhat lazy dad and a neurotic mom. I often jump to conclusions and get annoyed when others do the same.
I'm the head magic teacher at a British boarding school.

My quick and dirty thoughts on Trump's short-sighted, stupid, and self-defeating ban on foreign made drones.

Banning foreign drones won't make us safer. Instead, it'll encourage people to build their own drones - which are way harder to track and to control.
The USA Bans Foreign-Made Drones, in Trump's Grand Idiot Tradition
It's December 23rd, and the USA has officially banned the import of all foreign made drones and "critical components." Here's a very quick and dirty run-down of my thoughts. Although if you'd like t...

Listening to Jeff Beck’s Truth and it sounds like Night Ranger used the slowed down verse melody of Shapes of Things as a model for Sister Christian.

Or not. I’m tired.

Did the Detroit News give ICE their next mission?
So you’re telling me that when your country welcomes talented people from around the globe, and brings them together in world-class universities, they make discoveries that save lives? Interesting.

In part due to research by two University of Michigan researchers, a form of leukemia can be treated more easily through an FDA-approved drug.

The SOTU speech is going to be one for the ages. In the middle of a meandering stream of grievances and lies, it’ll be a reverse of the Lincoln 2nd inaugural: “with charity for none, with malice toward all” levels of evil.

While I’m not a fan of making the ACA’s structural failures a burden on people, I do believe the other villains in this play are the insurance companies. There is no math that explains the level of subsidies they’ve consumed without reference to profits and “shareholder value”.

As new Epstein files are released, keep in mind that in his first term, Trump ate, flushed, and stole documents, and his Chief of Staff burned them in the White House fireplace.

Ubiquitous media becomes a force multiplier of these psychological shortcomings, which Thompson only had to deal with via radio and print.

The bigger gap to me is the tacit “Nazi” enabler who neither approves or participates, but is tired or distracted or otherwise apathetic.
Every few months now I re-read this "Who Goes Nazi?" piece from 1941 and am blown away by how it captures the people we are dealing with 80 years later.
