This is a thread about why I’m in a chevra kadisha, or more specifically, why I do taharah – the act of ritually preparing a dead person for burial. Sometimes people act as if it means I’m a particularly good or giving person, but I don’t see it that way. 1/6
I got up and got the pan out to make some brownies, then realized I don’t have a box of brownie mix on hand (or the ingredients to make it from scratch) so now I’m having a sad.

There are literally signs in some parts of Marin warning people not to park in certain areas during king tides. Which isn't all that helpful if you don't follow the tide tables.

Your yearly reminder that “holiday” celebrations that only include Christian traditions are not, in fact, inclusive even if you don’t use the word Christmas, so tbh I’d rather you just say it’s Christmas.
Until a few years ago, ugly holiday sweaters didn’t exist. They’re ugly Christmas sweaters, with some generic Jewish iconography to be “inclusive.” But the truth is, when I have to buy one to wear to a work party, I feel like I’m in another culture’s drag.
