For journalists, I suspect one appeal of the Twitter verification system was that reporters were verified but not presented as official accounts of the news organization, so you could wash your hands if someone posted something bad. Putting them under your domain makes it a lot more official.

The major networks and political figures not using this option are really the perfect proof that this option is not as good, easy, or adequate as its proponents think it is.
Why don't they verify with a domain? Surely MSNBC.com could do this for their hosts?

immigration is a skill which once you acquired, you might want to use again

but the five year figure is concerning

"One in five immigrants who come to Canada ultimately leave for another country within 25 years, with about one-third of those people moving on within the first five years."

Hundreds queued outside West Kowloon Law Courts this morning to try and get a public seat for the sentencing of the Hong Kong 47. Largest “political” crowd I’ve seen in years, though no banners or slogans being yelled. Despite this there is unsurprisingly also an immense police presence.

You know, the way I look at streaming services now is through the lens of "The many months a year I would subscribe it so that I could 'clear' the content I would watch"

The answer for Apple TV+ is definitely "one month"

Netflix and Disney+ can get "three months" for comparison

Maybe the answer is "it's not a great labor market".

I don't think the US labor market's cooling over the past 2.5 years played a huge role in the 2024 election outcome, but...
