"No law enforcement professional wears a mask... Those that come into our communities wearing a mask to commit crime... You getting arrested".

"Fake wannabe law enforcement... The criminal in the WH will not be able to keep you from going to jail".

Have we really become so woke that we’re no longer comfortable with ICE shooting unarmed women and yelling “fuck you bitch” as they die?

One reason I favor impeaching Noem is because it's a political process for a political problem. No, this will not stop ICE enforcement action but YES it would be an opportunity to educate the public about DHS & perhaps begin to lay a foundation for dismantling it.

A friend in Minneapolis just sent me this video. Looks like thousands have come together for a vigil after an ICE agent shot and killed 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good. This was my neighborhood for several years before coming to Portland.

By announcing his support for this tax idea today (it would not kick in til 2029), Ferguson was able to take away some attention from the fire his immediate supplemental budget proposal is taking from fellow Democrats and progressive groups for its mix of cuts and fund swipes.

The President is not well, mentally, emotionally, or physically.
Every part of this is bonkers. The intro is bonkers. The transition to his health is bonkers. The mention that other presidents didn't need cognitive exams is bonkers. The claim that this screening test is somehow hard is bonkers. The idea that criticism of him is treason is bonkers. All of it.

Parent of a toddler here.

He is not doing strategy with this rally stuff.

He is agitated and engaging in self-soothing behavior
Trump can go to Pennsylvania, mock the topic of affordability, lie that prices are way down, but that won’t change the trajectory. Holding a rally with supporters laughing along with him about affordability doesn’t make him look any less untethered from reality & the actual struggles of Americans.

If something owned by Bezos is "in severe financial distress," it's 1) intentional and 2) designed to justify gutting it further.

Amazon didn't turn a profit for a very long time. He could invest in supporting his recent acquisition, but he's choosing not to.
Some news: The Washington Post is preparing to cut newsroom staff even after several high profile exits. Bezos’ new opinion editor has privately told people The Post is in “severe financial distress.” Details in @status.news www.status.news/p/washington...

ICE arrested a Chicago father whose 16-year-old daughter has Stage 4 cancer. It’s spread to her bones, and she’s undergoing aggressive treatment to try to save her life. They don’t know if she’s going to make it—and all she wants is her dad back. This is cruel, and it’s not making anyone safer.

If you didn't know republicans were racists in the 1990s, that's because from your POV they were at an acceptable level of racist. There was enough breathing room for you to maybe deny it in public. But yeah, today they just have swastikas hanging up in the office, that's harder to deny, fair enough

@nancyayoussef.bsky.social called it a “sad day for those who support a free press.”
