National public health “leadership” (hi RFK Jr 🙄) keeps poisoning public health with lies.

Vaccines prevent needless childhood deaths.

No baby in America should be dying of whooping cough — not when we have safe, effective vaccines literally ready to go.

This is a national tragedy

A third unvaccinated infant in Kentucky has died of pertussis as public health officials urge Kentuckians to get vaccinated against the disease.

Donald Trump hates me, and the feeling is mutual.

I believe he is a criminal and an authoritarian who is trying to destroy our democracy and the rule of law. I spend a considerable amount of my time fighting against him and his enablers in court and in public discourse.

ImprisonTrump now. No war!
Trump just declared Venezuelan airspace “closed” and is now teasing strikes “very soon.” This isn’t foreign policy it’s a countdown to another reckless war.
Buckle up: he’s itching to light a match in Venezuela to look “strong”!

If Trump and the Republicans invade Venezuela, it means America has invaded Venezuela. How did we feel about those Germans that didn’t want Hitler to invade Poland? Remember them? No— as the world saw it, it was Germany that invaded Poland, and it will be America that invades Venezuela.

Trump’s own Jack Booted Thugs in action. The woman was on a cane and took no agressive action towards the ICE Thug who cowardly sprayed her with mace or bear spray. And then joined with his fellow thugs to give her a beat down. This is Donald Trump and Republicans America. Is it yours? #ProudBlue
A masked ICE agent aggressively sprayed a woman protester directly in the face during a raid in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Another unacceptable act of violence against a peaceful protester that needs to be condemned and punished.

RFK Jr. is obviously a dangerous fraudster. But he would not have the power he currently has without being aided by the Republican Congress—in some cases, by members who should know better.

I despise RFK Jr. but I also harbor a different flavor of contempt for doctors like Cassidy and Barasso.

Despite having glorified war crimes, Hegseth was confirmed due to his exemplary personal life.
Thing is, we DID hear about it at his confirmation hearing.

Every single senator who voted to confirm Hegseth knew he held these views about the laws of war.

They voted to confirm him anyway.
Everyone should read this terrifying thread about Hegseth’s published views wrt war crimes. It’s pretty fucking radical …. We needed to hear about this in his confirmation hearing.

The death of browsing is part of the reason art is the way it is now. Our opinions are largely fed to us by algorithms. Spending a spare 15 minutes wandering around a bookstore or comic shop or video rental place was how you found stuff you wouldn't ordinarily pick up and thereby expanded your taste
Bookselling is like the most "people go to the store and buy what looks cool to them without a particular agenda" type business left, and your purchases have a huge influence on what is ordered, what is displayed, and what is recommended.
