There must be a kind different than mine that is more dangerous? Like it has a slidy box thing with a handle

Then, I’m a burner, not a cutter. I’m much more apt to pick up something I shouldn’t or set something on fire than cut myself
never trust a mandolin!
I was at the ER the night before Thanksgiving/early hours of Thanksgiving last year with a family member, and we overheard two doctors call that block of time "The Night of the Mandolines" due to the sheer number of sharps injuries during meal prep.

The housing crisis is being exacerbated by tech companies like RealPage and Yardi that are facilitating collusion between corporate landlords to push higher and higher rents.

@chuygarcia.house.gov and I have reintroduced a bill to ban this type of digital price fixing and protect people’s wallets.

So all we have to do is replace the profligate elite class while taking all the hoarded wealth to build an equitable and inclusive world resistant and resilient to climate change, and we have like 5 years to do it

ok

Elites are capitulating on the core values of the institutions they steward

This isn’t nibbling at the edges

A whole class of people who attained power and privilege devoid of duty and responsibility
In case you missed this, the BBC edited a historian's speech about Trump to remove the claim that he's "the most openly corrupt president in US history." This came after Trump had threatened a $1 billion lawsuit.

Elite capitulation continues.

Read all about it here:

Trump Angrily Threatened to Sue BBC. Then Things Took a Darker Turn.
First, British Broadcasting Corporation execs resigned after Trump complained about a segment. Now the BBC edited out a line from a historian that was critical of Trump. Where does this end?

Don’t set yourself up for failure aiming for a juicy turkey. It’s not under your control. Concentrate on making a gravy that tastes good on plywood.

Putting the milk in milquetoast
I’m very pleased that my bipartisan bill with Senator Roger Marshall allowing schools participating in the National School Lunch Program to offer whole milk to students passed the Senate.

We’re going to get a whole lotta milk back in our schools.

Elite liberal reaction to Gaza protest gave me the same sickening lurch, like when your eyes and other senses are telling you different things, as the run up to the Iraq war, when basically the same people fell in line to cheer for slaughter
@brendannyhan.bsky.social is right: young people are reluctant to come to the defense of institutions that have excluded them, ignored them, and crushed their movements

Having told young people to stfu about Gaza and BLM, the olds want to know why they didn’t show up for milquetoast protests that only make page 14 of the NYT no matter the numbers

The fix* was in before the election

Azeen has this platform because women in astronomy helped her report major stories about alleged perpetrators of sexual misconduct in our field, like Lawrence Krauss. This is what she has done with the platform. It haunts me. 🔭
It's absolutely disgusting what the New York Times, and particularly Azeen Ghorayshi, is doing with its coverage of autism. It's so deeply irresponsible.

It's the same playbook they ran on trans kids.

Since February, according to my latest analysis, almost 600,000 Black women have been economically sidelined. The November 20, 2025, Jobs Report makes clear this isn’t a blip. It’s a structural crisis. That is not a recovery. It is a redistribution of opportunity.

It’s all one fight
Everything that threatens the status quo upsets the top beneficiaries of the status quo, including women's rights, anti-racism, environmental protection, climate action, any mild redistribution of wealth, etc. and that's been true at least since 19th c. opposition to abolition and women's suffrage.

How does weak, whiny, pudding-brain Trump appeal to young white men who go on about the virtues of masculinity all the time?

Can’t they see he’s a chump?

Of course they can

Having power over people while being a useless dipshit is exactly his appeal

He resonates
