Dog fart smelt so bad I thought there was a dead mouse somewhere in the room. Even had us checking the Christmas tree stand. Nope just a deadly dog fart

It is very important to me that we do not tell apartment complexes that they need fast chargers for EVs. They need level 2 chargers. Not more than is used by a dryer or electric range.

When you're charging overnight, you do not need crazy voltage.

🎄🎅🏻 DEFINITIVE RATINGS OF U.S. HOLIDAY TRAINS 🎅🏻 🎄👇

1️⃣ MBTA:

The newcomer - I believe this is the first year the T has done a holiday train. Definitely a strong effort but very busy & a bit overboard on using vinyl decals.

But bonus for the Phil Eng Santa on the orange line.

Grade: B+

My coworker cooked a whole ~10lb roast beef in the (nice) toaster oven at work today. Made my frozen dumplings seem subpar in comparison

A fascinating episode, so interesting to have such a good look at someone like Neaira's life 2000+ yrs in the future. As Patrick says at the top of the episode, this part of ancient Greek life is so under discussed
New Past Lives: Neaira and the Lives of Sex Workers in Ancient Greece. In ancient Athens, prostitution was everywhere, but what do we know about the people who chose or were more often forced to engage in it?https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/past-lives/id1852618120?i=1000741661192

As someone who is an obsessive rule follower and e-biked about 1000 miles around greater Lowell last year, the 'ebike panic' has driven me crazy

In an area full of hills and no real bike lanes, my level 2 ebike lets me bike safer by maintaining 20mph speed & being able to start after stopping
Something I often talk about is the need for media outlets to put conversations about e-bike safety and regulations in the context of the larger danger on our streets: cars.

The Boston Globe published two letters to the editors that do this well. I'll thread them below.

Nothing on the internet makes me actually audibly respond much nowadays, but I legitimately went "What the Fuck" at the end of this.

I can see a playground from my house but there's such busy roads between my house and the playground that I wouldn't want my kid (who I trust) to walk there by themselves until their like 10
Think much of the over-parenting we despise stems from the early on fear of the driver.
If parents weren't terrified of our streets kids would have so much more freedom and independence which might get them comfortable with their children's ability to navigate the world without them.
