A former UK prime minister held responsible for tens of thousands of deaths while the US president calls for elected politicians to be hanged.

A jolt of a reminder that law and policy are ultimately about life and death.

And politicians are often not up to dealing with such things.

The UK just has incredible attention to detail when it comes to making sure the people who pay all the taxes can’t have nice things. Child benefit? No. Free Child car? No. Cut price bike to cycle to work? No.

Functionally we are telling people they pay too much tax to get anything from the state.

Gonna be honest here and say as a journalist working in Westminster this makes me want to cry

My grandparents had to deal with this crap and now we are, it’s so wrong

How are we here where politicians feel so emboldened to say things that are so obviously racist?

I love my parents but I don't think I can do another ten years of saying "No, that's not true. That far right influencer/politician is lying to you again. Here are the facts." They get so frightened by all the lies. It's exhausting.

I may have said it before, but my God, I hate that man.

Unable to visit my Alzheimer's ridden mother - telling my young children that we needed to abide by all the rules not just for ourselves but for our neighbours and friends too.

Meanwhile that arrogant tosser did what the fuck he wanted.
“Unless we act we could see deaths in this country running at several thousand a day,” said Boris Johnson as he forced the nation into lockdown for the second time.

A day later he hosted a secret dinner for the Tory peer who funded a lavish refurbishment of his Downing Street flat

"For whatever reason" - how about: "because Vladimir Putin has been waging a brutal and illegal war of aggression against his neighbour"? Trump's continued belief that Putin wants the war ended is extraordinary, and has no basis in reality.
Trump: "A lot of people were killed last week for whatever reason. A big number. A lot of soldiers. On both sides ... I believe Vladimir Putin wants to see it ended."
