Onside kick to start the second half. One trans coach on every NFL team. Call it the RuPaul Rule.
every victory speech is like “to those that did not vote for me just know i will work with you”

nah dawg, we are running lib shit like it’s the four verts offense. gays everywhere. trans folks on every high school field hockey team. get on board or get smoked 42-0 at halftime.

"Why does FEI have Team X rated above Team Y?" Game ratings are probably the best way to answer that question, and here's one way to visualize that data.

This extends to almost any concept that gets any shorthand notation on the liberal side - woke, DEI, gentle parenting, feminist, toxic masculinity, etc.

No matter what it originally means, it's eventually picked up by the right wing and bastardized to then mean something ridiculous.
Really was one of the dumbest and most harmful things possible for “virtue signaling” to become some kind of epithet. Sending externally visible signals that you are engaging in pro-social behavior is normal, natural, and good, it’s how society works. Other people can’t read your fucking mind.

To anyone that is struggling with this: Yes, it feels callous to immediately try to start the conversation about what decisions - political or otherwise - could have been made that might have prevented this tragedy.

So some will say "hey, this is not the time". And unfortunately it has to be (1/3)

I would say - we do not and will not know that it's untrue. We don't know if an extra NOAA or NWS employee would have been the difference in even one local official taking this more seriously.

The fact is that we shouldn't have to wonder, and that's good enough to put this at the feet of MAGA/DOGE
Even if it’s not *really true* that DOGE is directly responsible for this, it feels *true enough*. That should suffice.
I am merely casually observing the discourse about the Texas flooding, but it sure seems like a lot of people are in fact capable of relating the chaos that happened here to DOGE and Trump gutting emergency services

This motherfucker answers every reporter question like the kid who rewords the essay question into an answer, because he didn’t study.
Trump on the Texas floods: "It's terrible. The floods? It's shocking. They don't know the answer yet as to how many people, but it looks like some young people have died."

Please spend 5 minutes thinking about this one paragraph you wrote and see whether you can find any holes with this logic.

The same, but opposite - life is too short, don't wait till it's too late to let people know they suck and that you hate them.

🖕
Life is too short, don’t wait until it’s too late to appreciate the people you love.

Family feuds, political arguments, and holding onto grudges only waste precious time.

So live with love, let go of negativity, and always say “I love you” while you still can. ❤️

Gen X and Boomers are almost indistinguishable at this point. The only difference is that Boomers' badge of honor is "I earned this all by myself" (they didn't), while Gen X's is "we don't give a fuck about anything" (they do and are actually incredibly fragile)
No advice, just critique. The dif between my gen and yours is that you all want the cred without criticism and ours doesn't give a fuck about either. - OG GenXer

Ok, I have to comment because I think most people are reading the headline and not the article.

Two things worth clarifying:

1. He's saying asking for permission as opposed to allowing artists to opt out. So he recognizes that artists should be allowed to not have their stuff taken by AI (1/3)

If you've been through a STEM degree in college, it becomes pretty obvious why - because all STEM fields teach their students that science is perfect, and pure, and objective, and other fields aren't. But also, they will teach you that STEM fields are harder, therefore you are smarter than them 1/3
The level of hatred these AI bros have for creative people I just do not understand

Let's put aside the fact that supporting a site owned by a fucking nazi is bad. Let's *just* focus on self-interest.

What is the value of a Twitter follower for someone who is a book author in the transportation planning space?
For everyone who thinks I should leave Twitter this poll I just did there explains the problem. Bluesky remains unattractive to a big chunk of people.

I used to do drugs. I still do, but I used to too.
Everyone has one Mitch Hedberg joke stashed in their brain like a squirrel to sustain them whenever they need to feel joy for 30 seconds and mine is “they say the recipe for Sprite is Lemon and Lime but I tried to make it at home, there’s more to it than that”

As someone with young boys: I think one of the most important lessons that everyone needs to learn - but that is specifically relevant to not get sucked into the manosphere - is that anything that sounds too good to be true probably is.
Here's what the manosphere guys do. They tell young men that every interaction - girls, job interviewers, with teachers, - is a video game dialogue tree. With an optimal solution and a reliable path down the tree.

Lets not delude ourselves: Many young men find this intuitive and appealing.

This is maybe one of the worst football takes I've seen, and I hate the Patriots dynasty.
Belichick did not invent a system of football the way Bill Walsh or other elite winners did. He was the most ruthless person in a biz defined by ruthlessness. Unless that book boils down to ‘winning is about bending every rule until it snaps and finding creative ways to cheat’ it’s not authentic.
