Retired software engineer, wanted to be a symphony musician but didn't make the cut. Love my dog, my spouse, my children, and my UU community (not in that order.)
Is this how any sane person would sum up the past year of Trump, @nytimes.com?

Mark Cuban is a funny case of getting hit by the lucky stick. He sold his streaming company at the peak of the bubble and the company never amounted to anything in the long run. Bless his heart he made a crap ton of money but he doesn’t have any special insight that the average Joe doesn’t.

I knew that Colbert annual Christmas animated special would get him ranting. It was really funny, as usual, but perhaps a *little* more biting than even usual this year.

Same, but without the SPY
Awhile back I moved almost all my money into cozy 4%+ CDs.
(I do have a chunk in SPY, which I buy on dips, then sell, then buy again.)
I’m not making massive gains, but I do make money… and I sleep well at night. 🙂

!! Here’s a link to full video of the 60 Minutes segment that Bari Weiss killed last minute, via @jasonparis.bsky.social:

Ok.

Fine.

But maybe next time don’t chose people who just a few months ago were fluffing MAHA disinformation agents.

There’s only about 10,000 of us out there to choose from.

He's not taking sides because he believes all the MAGA factions have important bigotries, and that needs to be celebrated in a big tent.
This is NYT headline morning after JD’s grotesque hot blast of white supremacist nativism at Turning Point’s hate-fest?!

Question: When the head of the DOJ’s Civil Rights division tweets out a false statement about an individual that results in them being barraged with death threats based on their religion and ethnicity, which governmental agency would look into whether that student’s Civil Rights had been infringed?

Interesting to consider that if you were to go and deface the Kennedy center by removing Trump’s name, you’d be arrested and charged with a crime, but your act would be no more unlawful than what they’re doing right now.

That’s the thing man. If they are to be taken at their word the only takeaway is that there should be no black people in any job any other white person wants. One quick Google search for any of these jobs would show there are usually one or two minorities are best in a unit of 20 or 30 or more.
UAlbany, one of those, NY state universities, has been hovering around 4 percent tenure track Black faculty since ever. I am THE Black tenure track political scientists. These folks are just little liars.
