Because white people do not know how to fight other white people, especially Gen X and Boomer white men.

Those are on the top tier hierarchy of whiteness. And dont let him be a vet wearing his stripes.

They back down immediately
ICE seems to get completely flummoxed when they’re being yelled at by white men over 35. They kind of put their heads down and shuffle their feet. It’s like their kryptonite.

ICE, get the fuck out of Minneapolis or we WILL lock up our own citizens
Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey says 29 people were arrested in downtown last night during a noise demonstration at a hotel reportedly housing ICE agents: "For those that are taking the bait and causing property damage or otherwise, there are consequences. We're holding the line here all the way."

Perhaps, in all this darkness/oppression, the world could somehow find itself experiencing not an autocratic ascent but "a new birth of freedom;" and "that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth" but rise while autocrats stumble and fall. Imagine.
And despite it all, this is Tehran 🇮🇷

Like we BEEN SAYING, when you protect BLACK PEOPLE, you protect everyone else AND your white middle/lower class lives. It’s all connected.

But they don’t really care. They still waiting for Black bodies to get on the front line so they can get up.
A white mother and U.S. citizen being shot and killed is not what they were sold, and it is a breaking point for many.

That does not, in any way, mean the other actions are not also important and indefensible, but it is a line *for those in the movement* that they thought would not be crossed.

NEW: GoFundMe strictly bans fundraisers for “the legal defense of financial and violent crimes,” yet is currently running one “to help pay for any legal services” for the ICE agent who killed Renee Nicole Good. Its conflict is not even the least bit contestable.
GoFundMe Ignores Own Rules by Hosting a Legal-Defense Fund for the ICE Agent Who Killed Renee Good
The fundraiser for the ICE agent in the Renee Good killing has stayed online in seeming breach of GoFundMe’s own terms of service, prompting questions about selective enforcement.

This is Renee Good.

She was a mother of a six-year-old child.

She was an American citizen.

She described herself as a “poet and writer and wife and mom and shitty guitar strummer from Colorado.”

And she was gunned down in cold blood and broad daylight by Trump’s ICE agents.

Heard NPR’s correspondent, who is not in Venezuela, explain that people in Venezuela woke up to this news. Yet everyone I’ve heard from was up all night.

Intense observation on what the U.S. state is and isn’t doing requires critical attention to what the U.S. press is and isn’t doing, too.

The only time I've seen someone successfully recoup damages for this is when Megan Thee Stallion sued a blogger last year, in part for sharing a sexually-explicit deepfake of her on X. Megan already knew who this woman was. Most perpetrators are anonymous & most victims don't have resources to sue.
