Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

In this time of growing Christian Nationalism, it is important to remember the *real* history of Thanksgiving. The Puritans didn't just come to the New World to flee persecution, they came here so they could be the ones doing the persecution.

The most important thing to remember about all this fantasy-engineering of the Constitution is Madison's warning: If we suck as a people, no clever constitutional schemes will save us.

The Brewers now have as many wins (90) as the 2008 team. Summer of Sabathia. Braun's homer vs. Cubs. First playoff berth in 26 years. Prince, Rickie and Corey. Yost replaced by Sveum late. Ben Sheets dazzles, but gets hurt. Dave Bush. Mike Cameron. Seth McClung? Manny Parra? Here's to you, 2008.

.... well

i wrote one book about weird right wing internet shit

and one book about conservative american religion
Every outlet covering any of this stuff needs to have somebody who actually knows conservative American religion and somebody who actually knows weird conservative internet shit. See in here how they not just overlap, but also collide
last night as i was trying to wind down for bed i had a unified theory of what the fuck just happened, and i wrote it down, and filed it under "well, i can't talk about this on main without sounding insane until and unless the perp gets caught and is provably a groyper"

anyways, great news! (1/X)

District and appellate courts, I think fairly, keep asking the Supreme Court to clarify what they actually mean—i.e. "If the new rule is that the Trump admin can never lose then you have to say that" and the Supreme Court keeps being like "No, you're supposed to just do it without us having to say."

people always say the great lakes region is a climate haven because of the access to fresh water but...
The Great Lakes holds some 20% of the planet’s surface freshwater, a gift from departing glaciers as they retreated and melted thousands of years ago.

But without protections, mega data centers could drain that supply, a new report finds.
Mega Data Centers Could Drain Water Supplies in Great Lakes Region if Protections Aren’t Put in Place: Report
A new report explores how unprecedented levels of consumption by heavy water users — namely “hyperscale” data centers — could lead to conflicts over and even shortages of water, even in the Great Lake...

Closing rural post offices will do the same thing that closing rural schools has done: Empty out rural towns.

Why? To sell off farmland for rock bottom prices to the oligarchs. Water and mineral rights and CAFOs polluting with impunity.

It’s been the plan for decades.
