this is legit my first memory of Montana though--in a Chiefs uniform. I did not learn until much later he was primarily a 49er.

Crazy CFB idea: we break out the 136 teams into 13 groups of 10-11 teams each. They play each other in a round robin format. Winner of that goes to a playoff round with the other group winners. The winner of the playoff is crowned national champion.

This is how a $1m cap hit fits in a $3.5m salary cap. That's pretty doable. I've seen dozens of MLS wage scales that are similar in ratio. Nothing about this looks out of order in soccer or, frankly, in any office suite in America.
