NB: When I, a professor of law, profess that an act is unlawful, I am not doing it to inform the lawbreaker, but rather to inform you, the reader.

So the question “what, like you think he cares?” is inapposite. The question is whether *you* care. I think you should, which is why I bother.

many indies are intimidated about hiring voice actors and assume they have to go through "official channels" but voice actors, just like you, love money, and all you have to do is email them and offer them money to act. Here's an up to date guide on how much to offer: voiceactingclub.com/rates/

The biggest objections I see to Camus's "one must imagine Sisyphus happy" come from retail employees, etc. - folks who are really struggling under capitalism. The problem is that you're not actually Sisyphus at all. You're Tantalus. You're being tormented by what's held just out of reach.

Eleven years ago, I wrote to Tom Stoppard to ask about this coup de théâtre from 1949. It took me down an unexpected rabbit hole - in memory of Stoppard, here's what I found.

there's a moment in PARADISE LOST where Satan arrives in Eden and realizes Hell isn't a place; it's a thing he carries within him and it'll follow him wherever he goes. and i think about that when i see these awful rich men whose monstrous wealth has enriched them not at all

Reading Martin Gardner's bit about Lysenkoism is dramatically depressing in the face of the past 9 months. We've found our own Lysenko, to be sure.

Mamoru Oshii planned it. A young Satoshi Kon took the lead on its layouts. The result: a stunning moment from Patlabor 2.

We're looking inside the film's martial law sequence, including storyboards and production art:

Please remember that the disgust people have over Christopher Columbus is not based on some modern, 21st century “woke” ideology, but rather on contemporaneous accounts of atrocities that make many modern genocides appear quaint in comparison.

Below, are the accounts of Bartlomé de las Casas.
