Also, may I say that I don’t agree with people saying ICE and CBP need “more training.” They’re doing exactly what this administration has trained them to—impose a reign of fear in blue cities. They don’t need more training. They need to be ripped up root and branch.

It is incredibly frustrating that all I can do is scream at my two perfectly useless senators while these MAGA fools go out of their way to inaugurate a truly chaotic multipolar era that has a decent chance of killing all of our children.

It's just madness. Absolute madness.
I have lived in DK for 20~ years.

The last 18 days the DK & US relationship has plunged from "ok, we can handle Trump for now but we hope Americans choose differently next time" to "so, war? OK. No, do not invite the US to a party commemorating DK&US history held since 1912, in fact cancel it"

A fun question. In 5 years time, what looks better? The US’s enormous bet & capex on AI? Or China’s equally enormous bet and capex on renewables?
China has made cheap, clean energy available in huge quantities. The world should take the win econ.st/4oqFszB

An embarrassingly obvious point, but...

This. Is. Illegal.

If anything like the rule of law were in force, Trump couldn't arbitrarily increase a tariff because he is annoyed.

In important and increasing ways, the rule of law in the US no longer exists.

Literally everything else aside, it’s very surreal that the President of the United States posted a video of himself pooping on the general public and everyone was just like, yeah, he’ll do that.

This is the use of the military for domestic law enforcement; I don’t see any other way to describe it.
California National Guard troops under federal control were sent to operate in "the greater Los Angeles area." What the actual definition of that area is for Task Force 51 is isn't clear. But apparently it includes the Salton Sea. New from me @taskandpurpose.com taskandpurpose.com/news/nationa...
Guardsmen sent to LA are 130 miles east of the city doing drug busts
It’s unclear how many National Guardsmen participated in the operation, but the force totalled roughly 500 people.

Between this and the Venezuelan TPS ruling, #SCOTUS has now cleared the way for removing more than one million non-citizens who, until now, were *legally protected* against removal.

This also ratchets up the stakes in the "third-country" removal case, since many of these folks *can't* be sent home.
#BREAKING: #SCOTUS grants Trump administration application for stay in CHNV humanitarian parole immigration case; lets government deport those previously granted parole.

Justice Jackson, joined by Justice Sotomayor, filed an eight-page dissenting opinion.

Link to come shortly.

Federal spending is *up* under Trump according to the Wall Street Journal. Chaos is not actually the same as cost savings.

Actual budgeting is a kind of actual policy-making and takes real work spread over real time. Running around breaking stuff isn't that.

I keep saying that folks do not understand how angry Canadians are right now.

And, for Canada, this is not, primarily, a tariff story! It's about the threats of annexation, diminishing our sovereignty, using tariffs to cripply our economy, consciously destroying a very old and close partnership.
Poll on the defiant mood in Canada. Says a clear majority would rather play hardball with Trump over tariffs rather than negotiate *even if there’s a recession*
