I’m actually not completely against AI. For example, parents who are buying little AI toy companions for their kids sounds dystopian on the surface, but imagine how much trauma could have been avoided if furby was a mandated reporter

Today’s normie news bulletin: “dueling healthcare bills” in the senate. Apparently legislature has become sentient and embodied. They didn’t roll any footage but I’m imaging those plastic boxing robots
Every few weeks I turn on normie news and it’s so fucking wild. Casual mention of the US attacking a Venezuelan oil tanker, keeping the oil, and planning land strikes, and then another story delivered with equal intonation and weight about a holiday retail scam to watch out for

I’m not joking when I say that half the people I worked with in middle management would never be able to hack it at a drive-thru window. They’d be crying in the bathroom
The term “unskilled worker” was invented to make it seem normal that people working 40+ hours a week are still living paycheck to paycheck.

It’s not normal AND it’s not acceptable.

Hey fam next time you’re on a website and get accosted by an AI or automated chat, interact with it and make sure that if it gets your request 1000% wrong, click on whatever it gives you and then tell it you’re satisfied. Keep that well poisoned

The only time I ever saw a pair of Google glass(es) in the wild, it was when a dude wore them into a strip club and somehow got away with it because nobody knew what they were. He’d somehow gotten his hands on them as a beta tester
It's interesting how when google glass first came out, Google at least tried to *pretend* its main use case wasn't for perverts and gestapo. They were like, look doctors can use this, architects! Augmented reality plumbers!

Zuckerberg can't even be fucked to pretend it has any non-evil uses.

i think a lot about Sister Wendy saying that the chief virtue of abstract art (which she generally didn’t care for) was that it makes obvious the things art was kind of always about
The new statue of the Madonna at Santa Teresa di Gallura is an "abstract of Mary's form" 👀

“Breathe in, breathe out, you keep me alive / you are my passionZ of Christ” 👼
That everything about the "2" here (the colour, the font, the fact that it's ever so slightly tilted) makes it look like a zany comedy sequel, is especially funny

I was never super into The Office. I watched some, there were some great characters. However, I have a huge crush on Domhnall Gleeson and I’m very invested in the success of The Paper. I think a great twist would be to reveal in season 4 that he has been faking an American accent the whole time.

We were waiting for some change on my account to process so I told her about the triangle shirtwaist fire and when I apologized for rambling she said “no, you should be a teacher!” Anyway, happy Labor Day, the kids are all right ❤️
Today I got to explain to a call center worker at Spectrum what a union is, she literally had no idea when I asked. She was like “I think we must have one because they give us health insurance” and I was like oh, buckle up!
