If you're not familiar with this "debate", I can promise you that I am not being uncharitable here at all: this is what highly-regarded "gender-critical" intellectuals like Emma Hilton and Colin Wright actually believe.
[“GC” voice] I’ll see your 3500 scientists and their paltry empirical evidence and raise you a teleological and positively creationist-adjacent theory of sex in which humans (evolved organisms) are comparable to buses (designed objects), with unchangeable destinations.

there is no moral universe in which someone who ran on QAnon and supported a coup is pro-democracy, and if there is, it’s worse than worthless
The pro-democracy movement needs to include factions which we disagree with vehemently on all other matters.

That’s the point of a pro-democracy movement—we aren’t aligned on the direction of our society, but we all agree we should have a right to contest it freely and fairly.

Former pupils are reminded that leaving school does not necessarily end one’s education. Tea is served. Attendance is compulsory, summer holidays notwithstanding.

BREAKING: A Russian newspaper today — “America no longer sees our country as a threat… The US leader’s philosophy is closer to the values of Russia’s president, not the politicians of the Old World… he sees Europe as a liberal stronghold that must be destroyed…”

Read that again.

Note how we are now at 'man who wishes to identify as a woman', not even 'identifies as' anymore, which was bad to begin with.

First time I scuba dived a coral reef, I saw hammerhead sharks, a giant sea turtle older than my parents, a barracuda swam with me, then a manta ray came by close enough to touch. I was ecstatic but the boat captain said 20 years ago there was 20x as much life there. On the surface, a TV floated by.

I sincerely believe the real cultural impact of Avatar is pretty fucked up and poignant: for most people on Earth, its computer generated imagery of an imagined planet made by artists is the only affordable way to connect to an immersive experience of natural habitats we’ve already destroyed here.
