She was deeply loved by her wife who is presumably going to raise the six-year-old boy you just categorized as an orphan for some reason.

And we didn't ✌🏾lose✌🏾 her. The government murdered her. Words mean things
Renee Nicole Good was a mother of three, including a 6-year-old boy who is now an orphan.

Renee was deeply loved by many. Her mom described her as “one of the kindest people I’ve ever known.”

This is who we lost yesterday.

It's so quaint how in the 90s we worried that kids were gonna get fucked up by tamagotchis and now they're just giving every kid a free robot that generates child porn and tells you how to commit suicide

I couldn't love these movies more, but the question prob ought to be, who would think conservatives wouldn't love LOTR? A civilizational battle where whether you're the good guys or the bad guys is determined by what race you are and what country you come from. It's a right-wing wet dream

Since ChatGPT came out in late 2022, over *half a million* tech workers have been laid off. That fact, and their voices, aren't really shaping the conversation about AI, and what "AI" really means in culture. So I started to get into it: www.anildash.com/2026/01/06/5...

Porn and erotica are important and societally valuable forms of speech, and the defense of them, in the face of state and church attempts at repression, is a necessary political act.

Someone in fencing made a comment that since my wife is Japanese she must respect "honor" or something along the line.

My friends... the whole "Japan warrior honor" thing is 100% bullshit. Made up in 1899 by a ultra right-winger who wrote a book in English as imperialist propaganda.

In 1953, democratically elected Iranian prime minister Mohammed Mosaddegh’s government was overthrown by joint efforts of MI6 and the CIA after Mosaddegh nationalized the nation’s oil resources and declared that Iran’s oil belonged to Iran and not the Anglo-Persian Oil Company.
Trump on Venezuela: "Getting land, oil rights, whatever we had -- they took it away because we had a president that maybe wasn't watching. But they're not gonna do that. We want it back. They took our oil rights. We had a lot of oil there. They threw our companies out. And we want it back."

Yep. If you want to see how a democracy can slide into an authoritarian hellscape, SHOWA: A HISTORY OF JAPAN will show you.

The secret is the fascists don't have to take power. They just have to lie enough so the people willingly give it to them.
As you might expect, it is a book that is as antiwar as you can get, but I was absolutely horrified reading it by the parallel I could draw with our current times.

The book not only offer us a history lesson, but a warning: it shows both the playbook of fascism & it’s disastrous consequences.

A soul-murdering scam to create a generation of dead-inside drones - if you use it on the reg you’re a clown at best and if you promote it you’re lower than the shit on Satan’s hoof, sorry I don’t make the rules etc.

Somebody left a comment on one of my fanfics saying that they didn't care about my story at all and didn't like the characters I was writing about, but still decided to ask me to write a fic for them about their favorite characters from the same franchise for free.
Artists and creators: what was the weirdest/funniest/most inexplicable criticism of your work that you received in 2025?

Mine was probably the person who said they didn't like my dialogue because it was too much like how people actually talk instead of how people write dialogue

My wife had a single line in Kung Fu Panda 17 years ago and still gets checks every few months. Most are way smaller than this, but devs get $0 even though the games we work on will likely be sold for 10+ years soooo yeah.
