It’s wild we’re still talking about masks. I still mask up in grocery stores, elevators, public bathrooms, and public transit cuz I don’t like being sick and I don’t want to get my kid sick and it doesn’t have to be more complicated than not liking being sick. It’s weird anyone would question that.

No one says to legit business owners, "hey I see there's an underground market selling toxic knock-offs of your product: how will you incorporate the toxic product AND protect your customers against its harms?" But apparently it's fine to make this suggestion to educators with respect to AI.

I don't want to give this clicks, but there is a big push from the right to heighten policing and punishment in K-12 schools at the same time as they impose censorship and push RW indoctrination there and as they heighten surveillance and militarize local policing.

“It turns out that banishing the slur from public discourse was, in fact, important. Because now it’s back and it turns out that it does matter when subtext becomes actual text, when terrible people enable open hatred and bigotry, encouraging others to emulate them, degrading us all.”
Perry: The return of the r-word
"These days, the r-word slur has become a staple of the American right wing, uttered with few professional or social consequences," David M. Perry writes.

The student was blamed for the trauma the students and teachers suffered because we refuse to regulate guns and love to pretend that technology can solve the social and political failures of adult humans.

The far-right has spent the past several years accusing the left of teaching conspiracies and propaganda and indoctrinating children into extreme ideologies.

Now, as you may have guessed, they're doing what they accused the left of doing, but it's probably worse than you think.

My latest.

Jesus Christ. Don’t know what’s really going on here (Times Union amplifying the Streisand effect), but I do know that music teachers get bitched at no matter what they include or don’t include in school December concerts, and the sticker mule guy is a piece of shit.

Today the FCC accepted for filing the application for Nexstar (Fox31) to acquire TEGNA (9NEWS) and has set a pleading cycle (public comment) to run through late January with a ruling to follow. The FCC says Nexstar is requesting two ownership rule waivers.

What students learn when we talk about ethics but don’t act on them is that we are hypocrites who actually don’t give a damn— and that they shouldn’t give a damn either but should pretend that they do.

Exclusive: Republicans plan to challenge vehicle-safety mandates, such as automatic emergency braking and alarms that remind drivers a child is in the back seat.

How people drive reveals the sickness at the heart of our society: wanting power, but not responsibility.
It just needs to be way easier to lose your license and your car for reckless driving, because a few months of major societal disruption 5 years ago taught people that driving in such a way that kills others or themselves is nbd
so uhhhhh is anyone going to do anything about the epidemic of drivers just blasting through red lights these days? @timdonnelly.com investigates: nygroove.nyc/why-does-no-...
