The last time I can think of something like this which was everywhere and nobody cared was 3D TV’s, and we all know how that went

Half of the arguments I see in favor of generative AI basically boil down to someone smugly going "mm, you don't hate AI, you simply hate the economic system that will enable it to decimate the applicable discipline and destroy the livelihood of artists" like yeah dude that's still pretty bad
