In 2003, my older brother got drafted in the 2nd round by the Chicago Bulls. A bar we never went to in our hometown threw a draft party. I wore cargo jean shorts and a nautica polo from Marshall’s to the party. Matt got drafted during a commercial break...

The easy answer is "print doesn't pay." But tbh I think this has more to do with the concerted efforts of software developers, publishers, and technocrats to automate and deskill us while enclosing our tools in rent-based systems.
