The Americans are doing to Kseniia what the Russians did to Brittney Griner for having 0.7 grams of cannabis oil. Except no one is coming to negotiate her freedom and Harvard is sitting on their hands. I am so ashamed. Please share this story.

She Worked in a Harvard Lab to Reverse Aging, Until ICE Jailed Her (Gift Article)
President Trump’s immigration crackdown ensnared Kseniia Petrova, a scientist who fled Russia after protesting its invasion of Ukraine. She fears arrest if she is deported there.

This is very disturbing.
Harvard PhD student Kseniia Petrova (Russian citizen) was arrested by ICE for transporting xenopus embryos into Boston from Paris. She has been detained in Louisiana since Feb. 16.

Thank you very much for this possibility to contribute to this podcast! …but, as it said in my recommendation letter, “she has a tendency to talk fast” :)

Thanks to everyone who contributed to these discoveries discussed here 🙏 Especially to those I forgot to mention cause I was so nervous…

Why do some cells resist nuclear reprogramming? Using nuclear transfer, we tracked single-cell fate changes in vivo and uncovered cell-type-specific barriers to reprogramming. Suppressing the old identity boosts success!

Do you work with reprogrammed cells? Then look at our new paper!

We asked: How well do reprogrammed cells differentiate into complete&functional tissues?

We found that
- some cell types form perfectly but others fail
- reducing levels of one specific TF of the previous lineage can fix problems⬇️
Differentiation success of reprogrammed cells is heterogeneous in vivo and modulated by somatic cell identity memory
This study investigates how reprogramming success in vivo varies across cell types, revealing that gene expression of the previous somatic cell identity hinders proper differentiation. By following si...
