This is a fantastic article about how cargo bikes are proving to be a gamechanger for parents wanting to reduce their car usage.

(With an appearance from @lauragmitchell.com!)
Why more parents are riding cargo bikes, skipping the minivan
Many parents are now are forgoing minivans for greener alternatives: cargo bikes. They have been around for decades, but the advent of the electric bike motor has made them much more popular.

We had "Washington State and the World" in 9th grade. There was one poor senior in our class who had moved in and the course was a state graduation requirement.
Question brought on by a conversation with JR just now: if you attended public school in the US, did you have a class on your specific state's history in your K-12 education? Like if you grew up in Iowa, did you have Iowa history as a class?

The “E-Bike Effect:” Those who bought e-bikes increased their average daily bicycle use from 2.1km (1.3 miles) to 9.2km (5.7 miles), a 340% increase. The e-bike share of all their transportation increased dramatically too; from 17% to 49%.

E-bikes support fewer car trips.

A troubling pattern is taking shape: parents are being charged—sometimes even jailed—when their children are struck and killed on dangerously designed roads. But there is nothing radical or reckless about letting your child cross the street.

Less than an hour ago I saw the first people on rollerblades I had seen in years.
My former neighbors would throw amazing parties and there would always be this older guy who would show up in bike shorts, shirtless, very tan, on rollerblades. I assumed he was just a random eccentric rich guy (it was Lowry Hill).

Turns out, he was the guy who invented rollerblades.
I have some even more difficult news to share this evening: it appears rollerblading is making a comeback.

Everyone has one Mitch Hedberg joke stashed in their brain like a squirrel to sustain them whenever they need to feel joy for 30 seconds and mine is “they say the recipe for Sprite is Lemon and Lime but I tried to make it at home, there’s more to it than that”
