I keep encountering "liberal" Europeans on here who sound just like the most racist Americans in terms of their unwillingness to talk about racism or xenophobia. If you think it's insulting to do the least bit of reflection on bigotry that isn't "America Bad" then you are sleepwalking into fascism.

the guy who's harassing me is actually in the mentions of my quote, but they genuinely seem to want to be suspended or banned from this app, so they may not be there for long

It took a while but I finally learned to stop following people who are always Angry Online, especially the ones who appear to care about the same issues as I do because that's a good way to manipulate me.
What you have to realize is that people like Connie are just absolutely anti-social and insane. She cooked her brain on Twitter during the pandemic and can't interact with people in real life.

It took a while but I finally learned to stop following people who are always Angry Online, especially the ones who appear to care about the same issues as I do because that's a good way to manipulate me.
I got called an imbecile and told "fuck you" because I pointed out that routine displacement of longtime tenants is baked into the *status quo* and that building more homes helps prevent that. this is completely toxic behavior and I will unfollow ANYONE who follows people who talk to me like this

coming back here from trying to maintain my IRL life. i feel like it bears repeating that I've experienced blatant racism here from liberals that I never experienced on Twitter. YMMV. On top of that, I'm pretty sure any type of social media makes my life worse. Good luck everyone

The last barrier to transitioning for me was the fear that I'd never pass. I started testosterone a year before coming out publicly because I wanted to preserve my ability to pop back in the closet forever if it didn't go well.
fundamentally i just wish i'd been born a gay man. having the courage to become a 5'3 man at 35 with huge tits, a disability, dependence on religious family, and a somewhat public life thats involved a lot of nazi desth threats is... complicated

There was this tradcath who works for the state government and who had a lot of mutuals with me and who I used to follow. He followed dozens of racist groyper accounts and people still followed him, including me. He knew not to ever interact with the groypers except in replies.

Considering the marginalized leftist groups were the immediate crosshairs for violence not 12 hours ago… I don’t feel like the finger wagging is necessary here. Strong warnings, sure! But cmon, I swung from worrying for the safety of the LGBTQ+ folks in my life to breathing a sigh of relief.
