This election on 12/30 is imperative as holding the seat stops the Iowa GOP from regaining a supermajority in the state Senate

Hardman would be the first black person elected to the Iowa Senate too!

Frankly, LSU is not a university. It is a college football franchise married to a Greek society party circuit.
LSU is paying its previous football coach over $50 million NOT to coach there while likely guaranteeing Kiffin something approaching double that, all while having an academic hiring freeze and budget cuts across the board. What is the purpose of a university (rhetorical)?
SOURCES: Lane Kiffin is expected to accept LSU's offer to become the Tigers next head coach. Kiffin is set to meet with his Ole Miss team this morning at 9 AM CT. As we reported yesterday morning, LSU has been very confident it was going to land Kiffin. www.nytimes.com/athletic/684...

imagine how sick you have to be to take up "pardon Eddie Gallagher" as your pet cause. the only difference between that and "pardon the BTK killer" is that the BTK killer was implicated in fewer sexually motivated homicides.

Problem is, if they did that, they would have to become anti-capitalist, because capitalism at the end of the day is one huge scam. Owners steal the surplus value produced by workers and enrich themselves, which then is used to reshape society through laws, regulations, advertising and PR.

When the Republican Congress under Bush introduced the Medicare prescription drug benefit, they structured it into a pseudo market structure, where private companies would provide coverage, and the federal government would be forbidden from directly negotiating the price of drugs. This was stupid.
Structuring the Part D negotiation provisions of the Inflation Reduction Act do the benefit wouldn’t be felt until the next presidential term was real fucking dumb
How many of you are getting paid to fill prescriptions?
I’m sure not.🤔

Republican incumbent Sherri Ybarra held on against Democratic teacher Cindy Wilson by just three points!

Apropos of this, it needs to be noted that, while modern "villainous" aesthetics are, in many ways, derived from fascist imagery - being that a lot of media drew from WW2 movies as inspiration - one can cloak oneself in them without being fascist.

This is exactly the wrong way to do that.
Didn't think it was a Nazi uniform until she started calling people criticizing it "snowflakes" and blamed "woke ideology", lol

Ngl my hot take is space force either should get folded back into the Air Force (call it an Aerospace Force to make everyone mad) or stay around after eating the ballistic missile budget singularity from the AF's lunch tray
In related news Space Force doesn't deserve to exist until it has some fucking campaign streamers of its own. The Air Force exists because it won the goddamn sky from the Nazis. Space Force is a bureaucratic fiction made real

Neither is particularly likely compared to "this guy was cracked by trauma and then told he or some of his friends were going to be deported, and he broke"
What's more logical?

That the CIA directed one of its assets to perform the perfect false flag?

Or

That a jihadist played the long game by working with the CIA in Afghanistan to gain legal access to the country and then travel 3,000 miles to enact his plan of attacking National Guard soldiers?

Along with the obvious implications of what amounts to a “no quarter” order by Hegseth and compliance by the commanders of JSOC and SEAL Team
6, it’s important that @alexhorton.bsky.social and Ellen Nakashima have nailed down those organizations in particular as the ones leading the boat strikes.

On my map, GOP seats 1 & 6 flip to Harris, 3 stays similar with a weak incumbent, & 8 becomes a reach seat: davesredistricting.org/join/d78e8b9...

Thomas Massie hates pedophiles so much he de facto killed the Hastert Rule
Now that "government by discharge petition" is a thing and Massie can get substantially more than 50% frequently, there's no real reason to remove him. I think that the position of Speaker of the House is going to get a lot weaker going from here.
