People, at least public figures, need to understand that posting is not screaming into the void. It is form of political activity and so requires some degree of responsibility. If you want to scream into the void, do it literally.

we can do A LOT with a single trifecta with a real governing majority (ie a filibuster-breaking one), but i maintain we really need like a least three presidential term with at least half of that time in trifecta to really set the bone and mend the break

i think both of these things are related to a third problem which is that large numbers of people hate foreigners and immigrants.
Immigration is a fake problem. We have politicians on the one hand who want to use immigrants as scapegoats for our real ones and politicians on the other who are too cowardly to stand against them and tell the truth. That is the entire situation. Until that changes, people will continue to die.
