DOGE’s Only Public Ledger Is Riddled With Mistakes
The figures from Elon Musk’s team of outsiders represent billions in government cuts. They are also full of accounting errors, outdated data and other miscalculations.

If you’re wondering why I declined to talk to the NYTimes, then you haven’t been following my account for very long.

They bear a direct responsibility for the current situation we find ourselves in, and I responded by laying out my position and that I would only talk to @jamellebouie.net

If you live in NY State & want something concrete to do, call Gov. Hochul's office right now & leave a message saying (as calmly as you can, so as to get your message heard) that it's in her power to stand up to Trump by firing the mayor & that you as her constituent are watching what she does next.
Yesterday she said it sounded "undemocratic" to fire him. THE CALLS ARE WORKING. KEEP CALLING, Y'ALL. Tell her to fire Adams NOW. 1-518-474-8390
On MSNBC, Gov. Hochul does not commit to removing Mayor Adams, but implies she may consider it. "I'm consulting with other leaders in government at this time. We've got to have one sane person in the state who can cut through all the crap (and) say, 'What (does) my responsibility guide me to do?'"

The acting U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Danielle Sassoon has resigned after being told to drop charges against Mayor Eric Adams.

These are the heroes we MUST acknowledge, applaud, and encourage....so more will engage in these same acts of bravery and integrity.

Hold the fuck on a minute — Assistant President Poopy Pants spent $15 million taxpayer dollars to attend a single football game, but Phony Stark’s Division of DOGEbags can’t find the money to fund childhood cancer research?

Are you fucking kidding me?!?

The IRS Direct File program is very popular with the American people. It is not, however, popular with companies that file your taxes for a fee.

So I'm sure it's just a coincidence that Marsha Blackburn sided with H&R Block over the American people after taking money from H&R Block's PAC.

Aspiration is the answer. Not just “we’re not the bad guys.”

We need something more meaningful than that. I want a future worth fighting for. They have no vision. We do. Lean into our strengths and knock them out. 👊🏽

Congress would have to be out its mind to confirm a guy who is telling the public that he, and not Congress, decides how public money is spent.

I'm sure our safety and security won't be impacted at all.

FYI, folks from Bluesky. Reporters at The NYT, among other news organizations, are now generating a giant wave of accountability stories about the new Trump era. Reading these stories, sharing them, is a form of accountability as well. It is a form of participatory democracy too. Substance matters.

You can write an infinity number of opinion pieces and news stories about Biden's age or Harris's refusal to do more interviews, but the cap on "billionaires pledging fealty to Trump" is two, per WaPo. Anything beyond that, even a satirical cartoon, is redundant. I don't make the rules 🙃
Scoop: David Shipley, editor of The WaPo's Opinion section, has emailed staffers responding to Ann Telnaes' resignation. Shipley said he believes he "made a sound editorial decision" in not publishing the cartoon critical of Jeff Bezos.
