as a veteran who is also trans, it absolutely breaks my heart what is happening to my brothers and sisters currently serving. i served under DADT, which was BS, but at least it was consistent. folks now are having the rug pulled out from under them. the hate is coming from all directions

The Senate Parliamentarian ruled that the provision banning Medicaid & CHIP from covering trans peoples' medically-necessary care violates the Senate's rules on reconciliation bills, meaning the provisions should be removed before the bill moves forward.

This is fundamentally why this capitulation or compromise game doesn't work. The anti trans side doesn't want some "reasonable" compromise on sports or other issues.

The House Republican reconciliation bill will now ban both surgeries and HRT prescription under Medicaid for all Americans.
Earlier, I posted that it wouldn’t affect HRT. This is incorrect.
