Reasons why "slop" should not have entered modern internet vernacular number 37.
I won't make excuse for toxicity in cultures surroundings some games that def exists.
But I personally find joy in having to research a game or look things up. I've seen someone refer to this as "wiki slop". Games like Minecraft even come to mind.

Forget who, but I recall one culture reporter at the WaPo lamenting their contention that Marvel wouldn’t provide enough fodder for the hot take industrial complex (my phrase) in the context of reviewing one and Avatar has no cultural footprint reminds me a lot of that peculiar argument.
