Once in a while my brain reminds me that a Star Trek movie was based on the premise of "alien probe rolls up to Earth like, 'I swear to God, if you dumbasses have managed to kill all the whales since I was here last, I'm gonna ruin your whole gottdang day.'" And we were like, yup, that's good stuff.

Canada is releasing a set of stamps celebrating the nation's graphic novelists.

These stamps feature Kate Beaton, Jimmy Beaulieu, Guy Delisle, Julie Doucet, Bryan Lee O’Malley and Michael Nicoll Yahgulanaas, alongside some of their famous works.

BREAKING: This is huge news, the EU's equivalent of the 🇺🇸Supreme Court's 2015 Obergefell v. Hodges ruling.

🇪🇺Court of Justice just ruled all 🇪🇺countries must recognise same-sex marriages granted in other member states.

This effectively legalises gay marriage across 🇪🇺

You can say a lot of stuff about "Force Awakens", but this movie just oozes with fun chemistry between absolutely every character.

When I was in high school we were discussing how much better 2% choco milk is compared to 1%, and my friend said that if I ever tried 4%, it'd change my life. Well, now I'm in my 40s and I finally saw 3.8% chocolate milk for sale at a local country market and I gotta say... she was RIGHT. It's good

For graphic novels, especially adult genre fiction, it's incredibly helpful to review it online, talk about it, recommend it to a friend—adult fiction in the graphic novel space is difficult to place, and nothing convinces readers that they'll like a book more than the personal testimonial.
If you like an author's work, the best thing you can do is buy it. The second best thing you can do is ask your local library to buy it. Or, do both!
A reminder that the median book deal for a debut author in the UK is £7000, paid over 12-18 months. (from 2022 Society of Authors report). Some of your favourite writers are struggling. societyofauthors.org/2022/12/06/a....

DOGE shuts down having not found trillions of dollars of waste or saved any money.

They compromised the security of government systems, fired federal workers and oversaw the dismantling of USAID which has killed 600,000.

By 2030 approx 14 million people will have died.

That’s their legacy

Just finished Star Trek TNG 1x11 Haven and realized I have absolutely never watched the series entirely. These first episodes are both episodic and trying to be serial at the same time.

I'd especially love to hear from BIPOC artists, but this is an open call! Self promo welcome, please comment with examples/portfolio links if possible ☺️
