Shoveling words into the legal furnace.
They named a cargo ship after Putin's gym?
The cargo ship, FITBURG, traveling from Russia to Israel, was boarded and seized by Finnish authorities after its anchor chain was found deployed in the water, dragging it from Estonia to Finland. The vessel is suspected of sabotaging the Elisa submarine telecommunications cable.
Sky News: Finnish police say they have apprehended a ship suspected of damaging a critical undersea telecommunications cable connecting Finland to Estonia.

This is fucking grim. Somebody invented a white guy, an "IT professional" named Edward Crabtree, who stopped the Bondi shooting and spread it all over the internet, which was picked up by AI agents and slop aggregation sites.

The real hero is a fruit stand owner named Ahmed el Ahmed.

Will Arnett was on Conan and told a story about how Conan dealt with the death of his parents by accusing Jason Bateman of killing them. It’s so funny.

If the developers of a technology have trepidation about letting their children use it, perhaps we, as a society, should have more trepidation about developing the technology.

Remember: if a legal opinion is sound then it matters not how “great” or “distinguished“ the lawyer is.

And if it is not sound, it is not saved by the lawyer being “great” or “distinguished“.
Apparently, Stephen Miller cosplayed a “many great legal scholars” last night.

A fun question. In 5 years time, what looks better? The US’s enormous bet & capex on AI? Or China’s equally enormous bet and capex on renewables?
China has made cheap, clean energy available in huge quantities. The world should take the win econ.st/4oqFszB

This goes for any Westminster system out there. This moment reinforces that we all rely on the durability of norms and conventions at our peril.
There is talk of the need for stronger constitutional “guardrails”. In our constitution the strongest guardrail is primary legislation. Even that of course can be repealed in future. But that at least requires a conscious, overt political act, normally takes time & involves a measure of debate /1

You'll never get more people out of cars when they look out their window and see the buses stuck in traffic right alongside them.

Now, have dedicated transit infrastructure where buses are flying past gridlocked traffic and then you'll see change.

It's pretty damn simple.
Thank you IG girlies for providing a timelapse that exactly shows why we need dedicated bus lanes and enforcement on DLSD.

Those two busses have probably 80-100 people on them

A class action in every way.
Lawyers: If I’m (say) a rising senior who’s paid full freight for three years, after choosing Columbia in part because of its commitment to independence, could I now sue for a tuition refund plus damages for opportunity cost, devaluation of my degree etc?
Columbia University has handed over its undergraduate admissions process to Donald Trump and his MAGA allies, who will now decide at their sole discretion whether the university has admitted enough white people. It's no longer an independent institution.
